Donnie Wesley has been fishing the Nass and Skeena rivers, and the entire coast of British Columbia, for more than 50 years. Now, he says there are maybe 13 boats left commercially that could "turn the key and go out fishing."
Below, he reflects on his career as a commercial harvester in Lax-Kw'alaams and the decline of fish in these waters since the 1970s.
